The SMART BIN is an innovative automated device for the separate collection of used Absorbent Hygiene Products, for outdoor locations, designed to assign rewards and incentives to users registered to the service at each waste disposal. The users register to the service via a dedicated smartphone APP.

DRAG AND DISCOVER

The SMART BIN design has been developed to be integrated into the urban environment thanks to its familiar and engaging shape. Easy to assemble, the SMART BIN has been thought to be shipped as a flat packaging, lowering transport and maintenance costs; keeping the aesthetic and communicative aspects. The SMART BIN electronics have been minimized thanks to an innovative data transfer system.

Safety, durability and resistance to weather conditions and vandalism

heavy duty zinc coated steel construction, with powder coating treatment and front/rear artwork wrap for graphic customization.

Opening-closure system

Automatic system with door that opens and closes sideways when the user is close by the smart bin, without any need of contact, thanks to beacon/bluetooth connection between the SMART BIN and the users’ smartphone APP that unlocks electronically the opening system. Card reader via NFC, magnetic cardo or barcode to allow opening also without a smartphone (optional).

Capacity

Available in two different measures, hosting respectively a 1100 litre or 360 litre standard HDPE wheelie bin.

Simple management by the waste collector

Locking door opens with a key to reveal the wheelie bin for waste collection that can be emptied by standard waste collection vehicles; data transmission via beacon/bluetooth and 3G connection for remote management, operation diagnostics and continuous data transmission to the operations centre; no need for data download, control and routine maintenance by the operators of the collection service.

Power supply

possibility of power supply either by connection to the electricity grid or by 100 watt solar panel with 2 batteries and integrated battery charging system with accumulated energy measurement.

Odour control

Sanitization system with piping inside the wheelie bin that ends with nozzles spraying enzymes that can guarantee total absence of odours and insects.

Other equipment

Sensor for detecting the wheelie bin filling level; “overflow” signalling sensor and automatic lock; effort sensor on the delivery door; detection of the SMART BIN status via the motherboard; LED visual indicator (optional); weighting system of the amount of waste disposed (optional).

Hardware and software equipment

handles user identification, records and transmits data on the amount and weight of each waste disposal, filling level of the container, batteries level, malfunctions, etc.; it allows full integration with web-based management platforms for the remote control of SMART BINS and optimised management of the waste collection and container maintenance.
