To recycle waste also means promoting an area. The dedicated collection of used absorbent hygiene products has an undeniable economic value
The FaterSMART -branded innovation takes on particular relevance especially in contexts where it is possible to reach or exceed the recycling targets established by legislation. In fact, in contexts where over 70-80% of waste is recycled, used absorbent hygiene products account for up to 20-25% of non-recycled residual waste.
An increase in recycling leads to a decrease in the frequency of collection of dry residual waste, which includes used absorbent hygiene products. In order to avoid that used baby diapers, incontinence diapers, and pads remain in the domestic recycling bins for long, a number of townships have introduced dedicated recycling services for such waste products, even before having the possibility to recycle them. The technology developed by FaterSMART thus favours the percentage of waste recycled in the domestic context and consequently the amount of recyclable waste at the plant, while adding value to the waste products and generating a cost reduction for their processing.
